Analysis

These are two magazines that have a lot of differences and similarities. Firstly the mast heads in this case have both been wrote in the top left corner but in GQ the central images head is covering the Q which can indicate the popularity of the magazine as the buyer just knows the title of the magazine without seeing it. There is cover lines on each of the magazines in different places and both include popular names in todays celebrity society (Mila kunis and kings Of Leon). The puff is written in completely different positions for each magazine and there is different design features throughout e.g. One magazine is in colour and one is in black and white. The magazine Q has bigger bold writing and you know instantly what the magazine is as it says under the mast head it is Britain's biggest music magazine which is more of a bold statement as it shows the public the popularity of the magazine compared to the left magazine which with a completely different design has the puff under the mast head.

  1. Some good points made, when a media text is easily recognisable, even though the logo may be obscured as in the point you made about 'Q' this is called a strong brand identity, be careful with your spelling/ grammar ( wrote should be written) You have not mentioned TA and how the choices made effect the TA, because of this it remains a high level 2 response.

  2. One of the most important differences in these 2 magazines is the use of the star in the central image, how are they being represented? How do they address the TA?
